Pario Solutions launches Hosted Mobile Services

Telecommunications VAR hosts services for rural operators

DALLAS, TX — Pario Solutions, Inc. a GSM Value Added Reseller (VAR) that serves rural operators in the United States and Canada, recently launched Hosted Mobile Services. The hosted services are comprised of a GSM switching service, Push-to-talk over Cellular (PoC), General Packet Radio Service (GPRS), Enhanced Data for Global Evolution (EDGE), Short Message Service (SMS), and 24X7 network monitoring. The services are delivered from Pario’s facility located in Dallas, Texas.

The IP based MSC Server and HLR technology enables rural operators the ability to hand off the call control to Pario, save on capital investments and introduce new services to their subscribers. Unlike legacy hosted architectures in which all voice traffic was backhauled to the hosting center, Pario customers need only establish a VPN or IP based connection back to Dallas, keeping the local calls within the operator’s domain which are switched via a Media Gateway. “We look at the mobile switching center as yet another way to serve the rural operators,” said David Eason, CEO of Pario. “Now when operators partner with Pario to help them deploy GSM services, we can offer them two options. They can purchase their own MSC and complete network equipment or choose the hosted services option, simply purchasing the BSS and Media Gateway.”

Pario’s hosted mobile services also give cellular operators the ability to increase their revenue by introducing new value-added services such as Push-to-talk over Cellular (PoC). Using an Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) protocol, Pario’s customers can introduce interoperable PoC services that span across devices, networks and geographies. “We see this spectrum efficient technology as a revenue generating service that our customers can introduce in their markets,” said James O’Reilly, VP of Business Development with Pario. “What’s really exciting is that our hosted network allows IP voice packets to be sent and received over GSM and CDMA networks, not to mention that all leading handset manufactures support this global standard.”

Consumer demand for PoC services is growing rapidly due to its appeal to teenagers, college students and young adults. Additionally, small and large businesses in service industries are adopting Push-to-talk services to enhance communications and increase productivity.
