About Pario Solutions
History
Pario Solutions, founded in 2003, began as a wholly owned subsidiary of The Lewis Group, Inc. (TLG). TLG, incorporated in 1996, began its operations as a Value Added Reseller (VAR) that offered Wireline products to telecommunications operators in the Caribbean.
In 1997, TLG expanded the company by building a team of engineers with extensive network engineering, systems integration and installation skills, hence, truly adding the VALUE services required to be a successful VAR. Soon afterward, the company signed a regional distribution agreement with Advanced Fibre Communications (AFC), now Tellabs, to design and install transmission and access (narrowband and broadband) networks that deliver services such as DSL, ATM, TDM and VoIP.
In December 2002, The Lewis Group and Nokia signed a regional, GSM VAR agreement, making TLG Nokia’s business representative throughout the Caribbean and Bermuda. The agreement enabled TLG to provide Nokia Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM), General Packet Radio Service (GPRS), & Enhanced Data rates for Global Evolution (EDGE) services.
In 2003, TLG restructured and changed its name to Pario Solutions. At the same time, the company expanded its services to include Information Technology solutions. With IT expertise, Pario was able to offer innovative ways to manage their customers’ existing wireline and wireless networks as well as transition them to next generation services. The services included application development, systems testing, support for back-end systems, and mobile applications.
In the same year, Pario and Nokia signed a GSM VAR agreement to serve tier II, III and IV level operators in the US with Nokia core and radio network infrastructure equipment. Additionally, Pario offered wireless engineering, installation, optimization and support services. Services were offered for network overlays or complete network build-outs.
Capital & operating expense challenges, FCC compliance, and roaming agreement requirements from national carriers led the management team at Pario to develop a way for rural operators to cost effectively offer state of the art GSM wireless services. In 2005, Pario installed a core network that included an R4 Softswitch, HLR, General Packet Radio Service (GPRS), Enhanced Data for Global Evolution (EDGE), Short Message Service (SMS) and Push-to-talk over Cellular (PoC). In April 2006, Pario launched Hosted Mobile Services from Dallas, Texas. The company also expanded its team to provide 24X7 network monitoring and support. Recent additions to the company’s hosted services include the Nokia Intellisync Wireless Email platform, MMS services, and Global Roaming Solutions. Future plans include the launch of a UMTS hosted network in June of 2008.
